In an effort to facilitate and coordinate technological advances within William Bee Ririe Hospital and Rural Health Clinic, an Information Technology Department was created to assure the seamless transition of technological advancement.
Medical Records are maintained in a clear, concise, confidential and legal manner. We work closely with the medical staff to achieve timely completion and accuracy of patient records, in addition to the Business Office to ensure the billing process is accurate, timely and meets internal and external reporting requirements. Our Medical Records Health Information Manager assures compliance standards are maintained regarding privacy in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and treats your Protected Health Information (PHI) with confidentiality. The Medical Records Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with EMTALA regulations, compliance with Medicaid, Employment and American Disabilities Act, and Civil Rights issues.
This department works to guide development and implementation of continuous improvement in monitoring methods of the hospital and clinic facilities. The Quality Assurance-Performance Improvement Manager identifies potential trends and problems through encounter reports, incident reporting, quality improvement monitors, patient satisfaction surveys, patient complaints, and a number of other means. This department works with all the other departments within the facility monitoring areas for improvement to meet high compliance and regulatory standards.
William Bee Ririe Hospital's Risk Management Department insures that regulatory compliance standards are met.
The potential for problems are identified in conjunction with all departments of the hospital and clinic facility, including chart reviews, encounter reports, incident reports, medical staff Peer Reviews, and other regulatory monitoring. The Risk Manager continuously works to comply with certification requirements through The Joint Commission and the State of Nevada Bureau of Licensure.
The primary Equal Employment Opportunity responsibilities rest with the Risk Manager. The Risk Manager is responsible to insure compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Also, the Risk Manager investigates allegations or complaints of discrimination or observations of such conduct.
